OPTION A: Take public transportation to the Munich Oktoberfest location

Take the U4 or U5 to Theresienwiese or Schwanthalerhöhe (then follow the crowds dressed in dirndls and lederhosen) OR
Take the U3 or U6 to Goetheplatz or Poccistraße

Take the S1 – S8 to Hackerbrücke and then walk (10-15 min)
Buses
- Bus 53 to Schwanthalerhöhe
- Bus 58 to Georg-Hirth-Platz, Beethovenplatz or Goetheplatz
- Bus 62 to Hans-Fischer-Straße, Poccistraße or Herzog-Ernst-Platz

OPTION B: Hire a Cycle Rickshaw (AKA a Pedicab)
Another expensive (albeit fun and novel) way to get to Oktoberfest is by hiring a cycle rickshaw to take you. From the city centre, this usually costs about 40 euros one way, although it’s up to you to negotiate a fair price with your guy.
OPTION C: Take a Taxi
Taxis will inevitably be very expensive, especially given that there tends to be a lot of traffic around the festival site.
If you are living farther outside of the city centre, it would be smarter to take a taxi somewhere near a U-Bahn or S-Bahn station then take public transportation as outlined above.
